Oklahoma weather is so weird. It could seriously be like this one minute...
...and this the next.
A few days ago it was raining pretty heavily and thundering while sunny outside - there wasn't a dark cloud in sight. We've been having a lot of those freak showers lately.
But when the weather is like that, it makes for some amazing things, though. Yesterday we were at a pool party, when all of a sudden we spotted a multicolored cloud. I'm not talking about the colored clouds at sunsets and sunrises. I'm talking about a cloud that looked like it was a rolled up rainbow. It was amazing. I've never seen anything like that in my life. It looked like a dove, and uncannily like how I envision the Holy Spirit to look. It totally felt like we were in God's presence. Unfortunately, I couldn't take any pictures of it, as I forgot my camera at a friend's house and my point and shoot was at home charging. Can you believe that I actually FORGOT my beautiful D3000?! I was pretty mad at myself. I had to go a whole two days without it (I'm getting it back today). Sniff sniff. I can't wait to be reunited.
I digress.
But as crazy as the weather is here, I love it. I mean, where else does the tornado siren go off three times in two weeks?! ;)
Is there anything special about the weather where you live that you love?

That's the way weather is in Missouri. One minute we it's 98 degrees and sunny, the next the clouds are gray and it's raining like crazy.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures!

Well, in February we had almost three feet of snow and our power was out for 9 days!! But, I definitely love living here. :) (PA)
ReplyDeleteWe have crazy weather where I live too! It will be sunny all morning then around 3 it gets super cloudy and looks like its gunna storm. Sometimes all we get is a few thunder rumbles. Other times its a hugestorm. Sometime it just rains!! It definatly makes swim meets interesting ha! Plus it is humid and hot! And no I don't live in Florida!
ReplyDeleteWell, all through May and June it has been COLD and cloudy...Until yesterday! It just randomly hit the 90's and 100's...Today it's supposed to be 105...ICK. I woke up early and hopped in the pool :) Twas lovely. :P
ReplyDelete{Northern} California weather is unpredictable sometimes. By late May it's usually in the upper 80's to 90's here in the valley. Ugh. But this year (the first I can remember in a LONG time) it stayed nice and springish through mid-June. It rained some too, which was good but weird. :)
ReplyDeleteIn January 2008 a HUGE storm came through and our power was off for almost 6 days. And when our power goes off, so does our water (we're on a well, courtesy of living in the country.;). That was an adventure. :D
P.S. Beautiful photos!!
Our weather in Montana is the same exact way! Sunny, then raining, then snowing, all in one day! Crazyness! But here the hot weather is never too hot, there is always a breeze. I love that. :) ♥

That's super cool about the multicolored cloud! I wish I would've been there :)
ReplyDeleteHere where I live, it will be storming all morning and then 20 minutes later, it's all muggy and in the 90's...crazy.
Maggie, I lived in Missouri four a few years and one day it was 78 degrees in the morning by 5 P.M. it was 32 degrees. Missouri has unusual weather.
ReplyDeletethe sky loooks so different!
ReplyDeleteOur weather is pretty weird too, though Dec.- March, we had tons of snow! (52 inches)
ReplyDeleteThese photos are just BEAUTIFUL!! I love these type shots. Unfortunately it's kinda' hard to take photos of the sunset while simultanously putting four little ones to bed. Yeah, not happening too much around here.
ReplyDeleteLOVE your shots! Especially the one with the pink sky {sigh}
The weather here is crazy too, here at the GA/SC border. We have had a huge thunderstorm just about every afternoon. weird.
Beautiful pictures! Just looking at them makes me go, "MMM..." How great is our creator?!
ReplyDeleteAck, yes. I lived in Oklahoma for a short period. The weather, quite frankly, drove me insane. But that sunset reminds me so much of my time there. I feel like the light was so...red! Maybe that had something to do with the red clay mud. I live in Seattle now, so let me tell you...I have plenty of weather complaining to do! I'm currently on the east coast enjoying some lovely sunshine and stocking up on my vitamin D!
ReplyDeletethat sky is just stunning. lovely photos!
