if you give a little girl some safety glasses...

8.31.2010

(Raw(e) farther down)

Alternately titled: I take awful photos too.

...she'll probably find some scissors.

Nearby the scissors, she'll probably also discover the comics, which no one except for her has read.

With these tools in front of her, she's probably going to somehow make them work together. She'll slip on her safety goggles to "protect her from flying paper", grab the scissors and newspaper...

...and the end result will probably look something like this, with paper scattered about the table and floor.

She'll probably act quite proud of herself when she sees her big brother run upstairs to tell the big sister to get her camera. Despite the gravity of the situation (no, seriously, morning comics are an important element of our household ;)), she'll probably feel even better about her work of art when she discovers that everyone is cracking up. It will seem that her family's futile efforts to hold back the laughter bubbling up in their throats was unsuccessful.

Lilly has struck again - this time before 8am.

And while I'm on the topic of Lilly, she was in the library (the one in our house) today with Jeremiah, chanting, "Praise God! He forgives! Otherwise you'd be fired from heaven!"

Where does the child GET this stuff?

Do you have any funny stories about your siblings/children? Do share! I'd love a laugh or two :)

EDIT: I'm throwing my yellow Raw(e) shot in here...because I'm too lazy to write a separate post. Heh.

Oh, I wanted to edit this SO badly. But I was a good girl and didn't touch it. ;)

  1. she is so cute!

My little sister was quite happy with herself when she learned how a pen works, along with the fact that paper makes a very interesting noise when you tear it!

  2. That's too cute. Yes, I have four siblings, two of which are 2 and 3 1/2. They are most definitely partners in crime. I have lots of great stories (my mom is always saying she could write a book). A more recent cute moment is that when my mom is really stressed out or something crazy has just happened, she puts a hand to her head and says "God, give me grace!". Totally sincere, of course. So a few days ago, the 3 1/2 year old was getting some water from the dispenser on the fridge (all by himself, without permission) and it overflowed and spilled all over the place. He put his hands up to his head and said "God, give me grace!"... it was too funny!

  3. My little one's only 13 weeks, so no funny stories yet.

However...I was a brat. When i was 4 years old my Dad and I were at the playground and he was pushing me on teh swings. Another little girl got on the swings next to us but was too tiny to swing herself bc her feet couldn't reach the floor. My dad started pushing both of us and apparently i didn't like that one bit. I got off my swing, yanked her chain, looked her in the eye and emphatically declared: "NO, he's MY dad."

p.s. your sister is such a cutie!!

  4. So cute! My sibling is older and when He was that little, I was just a little baby. lol. :)

Yesterday afternoon I took a trip to the local camera store and my parents got me a camera for my birthday! When I looked I realized that it's a Nikon D3000, just like yours. I was wondering if we could e-mail back and forth and share tips that we've figured out? If you want to, my e-mail is eclairemoore@gmail.com

  6. LOL -- our day would be imcomplete if the comics were ripped. :D VERY HILARIOUS!!!

*cough* I've got eight siblings, and you can only imagine the scrapes we get in. ;) ((My little three-year-old brother was watching a pastor give a invitation on TV. He leaned over to mom and wispered "Mom, give me my water, before I die.")) :D He is also very fond of unraveling my various knitting projects + the ball of yarn. ;)

  7. Fired from Heaven? That DOES sound scary!! :) That's really cute. Last night two of my brothers, 8 and 15 years old, came out of their bedroom with clip-on ties clipped to...their necks. Yes, actually clipped to the skin on their necks. They do stuff like that all the time. They crack me up. :)

My two year old brother stuck his head in the toilet this morning.

    Twice.

And there was...you know...yellow...erm...water in it...

Thanks to my five year old brother.

But my thirteen year old sister gave the baby a bath. Phew.

  18. I have another funny story from tonight. My 8 year old brother - yes, the same one that had a tie clipped to his neck - was eating mashed potatoes and decided to shape them into a replica of the White House. With his hands. And then pick it up and declare, "I am the strongest man in the world! I can pick up the White House - with one hand!" He's hilarious. :)

  22. Yes, I have a very funny story, Sophia my little sister was helping us with a job at our neighbors house. There was TONS of mosquito and she said..."We had to get home soon or we'll all turn into giant red balls." She was reffering to how mosquito bites get puffed up whenever they bite you.

  23. We were praying before bed with my little brothers, and my mom said, "God, fill our hearts with peace." And my 3 year old brother said, "We go pick peas in the garden!" It was too cute.
