Today's theme at I Heart Faces is "scenic black and white". I immediately thought of this photo...
This is my mom and me in front of the Eiffel Tower, taken on my surprise birthday trip to Paris this October. It may seem like the average cheesy "Smile! You're a dumb tourist in Paris!" shot, but it means a lot to me. The feeling you have when you're gazing at the Eiffel Tower for the first time is incredible. It was such a special moment for me. I mean, Paris is one of the most famous cities in the world! How often have we seen Eiffel Towers printed on miscellaneous objects? I can't even begin to count. But to actually be there? It's surreal.
What's your favorite city?

Love the picture. I have always wanted to visit France!! There is just something magical about the Eiffel Tower. :)
ReplyDeleteLove the processing on this photo...very pretty!

ReplyDeleteI LOVE the crumpled paper texture you added. Although I've never been to Paris, I'd love to go! What a wonderful surprise =)
ReplyDeleteCool texture! Do you use GIMP? If so, there's this cool thing you can do to photos... right click, go to "Colors", then "Brightness/Contrast". I have so much fun with that. ;) Anywho, I want your room officially now. XD

What a great memory, and a great photo! :)
ReplyDeleteOk first of all... JEALOUS! You know how much I want to visit Paris. ;) And second... amazing photo!!
ReplyDeleteI love the photo! It's absolutely gorgeous! I really want to go to Paris...*sigh* But mostly I want to go to London. Very very badly. I've seen pictures and I've read the history and it seems like THE place. I also really want to go to Venice. But as for my favorite city I've actually been to...I like Pittsburgh. It's small, but it has great sports teams and it's absolutely beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI also love the country. Wide open spaces have me written all over them.
Sometimes a photo of your best memory is the most special-I have a hysterical snapshot of my younger brother and my mom goofing off in the Gaudi park in Barcelona that's nothing special, but makes me so happy whenever I see it!
ReplyDeleteI don't know if I could pick a favorite city-there are so many amazing places in the world, and my parents were so generous about traveling when we were growing up (it's something we have in common)!
That is so special. I love it! What a great Birthday trip!
ReplyDeleteI love the texture you added. It gives a nice vintage feel.
