christmas recap

12.26.2010

Christmas has always been my favorite holiday. There's something so magical about this time of year - everyone slows down and enjoys life while Christmas songs are being crooned over the stereo. I love it.

This year did not disappoint. After a big dinner on Christmas Eve, we went to the 11pm candlelight service, my favorite service of the whole year. It's filled with lots and lots of singing and, of course, candles. I adore it.
The next morning, we went to church again, having been there only nine hours before. Afterwards, it was time to open presents.

(This was my present to MeMe...I was rather proud of the wrapping)

Much to the chagrin of my siblings, I made them wait a few seconds longer while I photographed the wrapped presents before their pretty packaging was ripped off. It probably seemed like an eternity to them at the time, but they got over it ;)

(Lightroom! I had been using the trial version, but it expired a few weeks ago. My parents surprised me by buying me the full version! I'm one happy girl.)

After the multitude of presents were unwrapped (which consequently left the living room a disaster despite our best efforts), the rest of the day was spent playing with new things and laughing until we cried. It was a good day.

How was your Christmas? Did you get anything special? Do tell!

  1. It sounds like you had quite a lovely Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I woke up to a white Christmas, played Christmas songs on the piano while my sister and mother laughed in the background and my father cooked breakfast for us, and then we opened up our gifts together next to the tree (in our pj's of course!) I received a lovely HUGE box that contained a CANON REBEL! Yes, I am one happy girl too! =)

  14. Such pretty wrapping! I have to be honest and say that I sad and stared at it for at least 30 seconds wishing mine were that pretty. I do the worst wrapping jobs ever.
I am not allowed to wrap anymore because they are so ugly. Thank you gift bags!
    I got my Nikon D3000!! (:
So excited and I am so grateful for your help forever ago and for answering all my questions really helped me decided what I wanted! (:

Merry (late) Christmas Carlotta! Sounds like you had a fun one! :) I was thinking about downloading Lightroom for free, just to see if I like it! My sister (a professional photographer) has Lightroom, but since she's a photographer and uses it for her business, I have never asked to use it. Is Lightroom easy to use? Please let me know! That'll help me to determine if I should download it or not!
We had a nive, relaxing Christmas. My parents got me the Cricut Create. I LOVE it! It was TOALLY unexpected!!!

  21. Abigail - Lightroom is basically like a (very) advanced version of Picnik. You can download tons of free presets of the internet, as well as create your own. On a scale of one to ten (one being the hardest and ten the easiest), I'd give it about a six. It takes some time figuring everything out, but once you do it's pretty simple. I'd definitely give it a try - or get your sister to help you ;)
