outfit: shades of grey

(alternatively titled - outfit: the target edition)

(alternatively titled - in which i am extremely materialistic)

I'm a self proclaimed Target junky. It's getting bad, y'all. If I don't go more than two weeks without visiting it, I start begging my poor mother to take me. And I can never leave the building without toting something new.
My weakness is their clothes. Where else can you find super adorable pieces of clothing for relatively little?
I confess that at least half of my wardrobe is from Target. From hats to sweaters to shoes, the majority of my things I've purchased there. While I realize the quality might not be the best, I'm still growing, so buying more expensive things isn't really worth it as I probably wouldn't fit into them a year from now. But when I'm finished growing? I'm all for quality over quantity.

I digress.

Photo credits go to my brother, Jeremiah.

(This shot, as well as the one below, were directed by my brother. He told me to "look far off into the distance and not at the camera because that's what you see a lot in fashion magazines". He's right though - I didn't know he payed attention to fashion photographs! ;))

Hat: Target
Scarf: Target
Sweater: Target
Belt: thrifted
Jeans: Can you guess? ...yep, Target.
Moccasins: gift

And this is why I've given this post the alternative title of "the target edition". I don't think I've worn so many pieces of clothing from the same store...ever. I think I might need a support group. Target-aholics Anonymous, anyone?

  1. We don't have Target in England, and from this outfit I think that might be a good thing. All the cheap shops here are hideously chavvy. But this is a really cute outfit and makes me want to go live in America where they have actual closets rather than tiny wardrobes that split after buying something like seven tops and two skirts.
Jeremiah looks like he might have a career as a fashion photographer, these are great photos.

  2. I love these photos!! I am definitely a Target Junkie too!! I used to go at least once a week and had to cut back so I don't spend all my money!

  3. CUTE pictures darling. You're definitely right about the growing stage and buying what you like right now from inexpensive stores/labels/brands. Love this outfit! You look so warm :)

  4. finally - someone who shares my obsession with Target! I found a gorgeous dress there for 5 bucks the other day...and it fit perfectly. Um, yes please.
I could seriously live in that store. I was actually thinking the other day that living in there wouldn't be so bad. I mean, they have pretty much everything I would need, especially since our Target is a SuperTarget with a grocery. I mean really...I'd have food, clothes, makeup, pajamas, furniture, school supplies....And a Starbucks. (which only makes my obsession worse...) It's probably not good that I've considered living in a store. My mom loves it, too, which doesn't help either. We actually joke quite a bit about how we wish we would get trapped in Target for whatever reason. I'll stop now. Let me know when you start that Target-aholics group. I'll be the first to join. ;)

Your outfit is seriously cute as well! I love love love that sweater and that scarf! And I'd totally steal those shoes if they were in my size ;)
the quote from your brother was hilarious...totally made me laugh thinking about my own brother :)

  32. How, ironic; the one day I wear a scarf is the day you put a picture wearing a scarf on your blog! I'm a TOTAL Target fanatic, too! In fact, Who ISN'T?!?! I LOVE your outfit! I entirely agree that you need to have cheap stuff for when you're still growing, because they won't fit too long. I LOVE Target! I would consider living there! Sorry, my thoughts are EVERYWHERE! I would love to have more money to more stuff at Target! My favorite "Target brand" is Gilligan &O'mally. ALL my pajama's and a pair of my slipper Ugg-knock-offs are from there! I LOVE TARGET!!! As if I didn't already say it enough! I would honestly buy ALL my clothes from Target, but I don't like too many clothes, so I buy from wherever. I have to admit, most of the stuff I like is from Target! :D
