| some favorite thrifted finds. |
Thrifting is magic. I'm convinced. There's something about the thrill of the hunt, buying things you normally wouldn't be able to afford, coming home with a bag filled with ten new pieces for only twenty dollars. I love perusing the racks, sifting and hunting for treasure. And then in the midst of terrifying vellum jumpsuits, silky neon green button ups, and gold opaque track pants, it happens. A gem is found.
And yesterday? I must have had the luck of the thrifting gods, as my gem just happened to be a like-new Theory blazer that fit perfectly. I scooped it up, and nearly fell out of my chair when I found the exact same blazer listed for just under five hundred dollars on their site. I got it for four dollars. Yes. Excuse me while I squeal.
Some may think it annoying to sift through so much to find something special; I call it treasure hunting.
Do you have a favorite thrifted find?
xo
ps thank you for your feedback regarding the new design -- so glad you love it!

Please come to my house and redo my wardrobe, I want to look like you! haha. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd favorite thrift item? Probably my chunky "Alp" brand sweater. :)

Your outfit is the cutest! You're so fashionable.
ReplyDeleteThrifting is fun, but it requires lots of patience. Have you ever been to one the 'dollar per pound' stores where there's just an entire room filled with unsorted piles of clothes? It's pretty jank, but my friend found a nice American Eagle shirt for really cheap.
Oh,I like! :)
ReplyDeletebeautiful! so fashionable...
ReplyDeletelove!

Umm, I may just have to come steal that outfit. Because I love it. A lot.
ReplyDeleteLovely outfit! What a bargain on the blazer! I recently found a pair of adorable oxford heels while I was thrifting for only four dollars. I wear them for everything now.
ReplyDeleteLovely post!

I love thrift stores! LOTS! I love that jacket! :)
ReplyDeleteI just adore thrifting as well. My goodness.
ReplyDeleteAnd your blazer is uuuber cute - and you are, TOO! :-)
your blazer is gorgeous! so jealous.
ReplyDeleteps.
are you a frank sinatra fan? if so, email me. ;)
I love thrifting, too. It's ever so much fun, and you can be daring and buy things that you normally would hesitate too, because it cost you as much as a bottle of soda. Really.
ReplyDeleteYou are just one of the cutest things ever. And I'm slightly jealous that your hair always appears to look good, even pulled back in that adorable fashion.
ReplyDeleteOn a more relevant note, thrift stores are the bomb.
YOU FREAKING LUCKY DUCKY. I LOVE IT. SO JEALOUS.
ReplyDeleteLove that blazer! Can't say I'm not jealous. :-P
ReplyDeleteTruely, I've never gone thrifting. I've always had the thought after reading a post like this, but I never actually went out and thrifted. Now that I see the blazer you found, I'm going to have to go thrifting! My wardrobe is in desperate need of some new-old pieces.
ReplyDeleteEven though I've never gone thrifting, last weekend I was at my mom's work organizing the clothes for the homeless (my mom works at the local religious homeless shelter as the shelter director) and I came across a ton of Abercrombie & Fitch and Hollister clothing! I couldn't believe that kind of clothing was there!
Carlotta, I love your sense of style! I wish (and hope) I could cultivate a sense of style like yours! I also absolutely adore your posts :)
Okay. I'm like extremely jealous. You must have amazing thrift stores!! Love the whole outfit!! :)
ReplyDeleteWow! What a find! I have to admit I don't like sifting, but you've got me thinking twice!
ReplyDeleteI love thrift hunting. Recently my mom and I found a complete wedding plate set with gold designs along the outside for 67CHF. We usually find a lot of plates. Unfortunately, the thrift stores around here don't have a lot of clothes.
ReplyDeleteWow this is so cute! I love good thrift finds too. It is fun!
ReplyDeleteWhat a find! I was beyond excited to pay £1 for a gorgeous hardback copy of Jane Eyre. It's got an almost letter-press effect on the spine and a gorgeous publisher's logo. I've also had the fantastic luck of finding silk scarves for 30p in the charity shop in the village!
ReplyDeleteI must go thrifting again soon. I only go into town once a month at most and the charity shops are a bit out-of-the-way.
I have never gone thrifting but I am convinced that I must, soon. :) I really want to. That blazer is amazing! It's so cool that you bought it for only 4 dollars when it cost $500 online!!!
ReplyDeleteSo, I really really love this outfit. Like a lot.
ReplyDeleteThe only "thrift shop", if you could call it that, is Goodwill where I live. I must find other thrifting spots! :)
a four dollar theory blazer?? must. go. thrifting.
ReplyDeletep.s. that outfit is adorable :)
I about fell out of my chair in delight when I recognized the necklace :) I knew it was "you."
ReplyDeleteLove you!!
Ohhh Emmm Gee. that is AMAZING! i now have a strange urge to go to the Goodwill in our town...like NOWAH.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute blazer! I never have enough patience when I'm out buying new clothes. bBut I guess I will have to find some if I want to update my wardrobe before going to the mountains.
ReplyDeleteyes! I do. :D
ReplyDeleteI ♥ Thrifting.... our favorite store has a ton of books... and you can take a shopping basket and fill it to the top with books for only $4. So that feeds my bookshelf. :)
ReplyDeleteYes, indeed, thrifting is just like magic. And sometimes, you find something with extra pixie dust, no? :)
ReplyDeleteI love thrifting - one of my favorite pieces are some really authentic cowboy boots that are in great shape, fit me perfectly. Can you guess how much? Eight dollars. Oh yes. I love 'em to pieces. :)
Love that jacket! I want to see more pictures of those shoes - they're too cute just to view from a distance. :)
hugs,
~bree
I love you're outfit. I've been trying to wear more girly, but not girly-girl clothes. Because, I kinda dress like a boy sometimes. So, I've been trying to find some more clothes too.
ReplyDeleteKelsey
im convinced that you are magic! you always find the greatest of things! :)
ReplyDeleteWOW! That is awesome, seriously. Love it!
ReplyDeleteOh how darling, Carlotta! Truly, you are one of the most beautiful people I know. (well, know through blogging. I feel like I'm friends with all the bloggers I follow.)
ReplyDeleteI love absolutely everything about this outfit <3

I treasure hunt ALL the time. And loving it.
ReplyDeleteI think you'd look adorable in a paper bag, ...but really, what a great find! And yes, ugh, I love thrifting...maybe a little too much!
ReplyDeleteyou're cute. let's go thrifting.

twin sister.
Nearly 500 dollars!? What a find! :D
ReplyDeleteHaha! My mom's favorite shop is the thrift shop! :D
ReplyDeleteThat blazer is amazing! What a find!
ReplyDeleteseriously? four dollars? oh goodness. I need to take a look at some local thrift stores. good for you! have a happy weekend.
ReplyDeleteI swear, thrifting is an absoloute favorite hobby. It's surprising how many name-brand things you can find for a few dollars...and not just name brand, but stylish things too. And thrift shops are the best place to find vintage looking attire for really cheap. Why spend 50 dollars at a new-clothing store for a few shirts, when you could spend 50 at various thrift stores for tons of jeans, shirts, jackets, ect. It's especially a gem when you can find a resale shop that looks "new", so to speak, in their makeup and merchandise. *sigh*

I love your new look! Inspired me to take some time and re-do mine! Love your blog, your posts are so impressive and inspiring!

You can never go wrong thrifting :]
ReplyDeleteI got an adorable '50's looking skirt last week. I wore it today :)
Oh goodness, I wish I could make thrifting my full time job, there's such a sense of adventure & excitement to it.
ReplyDeleteI think over half of my wardrobe is thrifted, but my most favorite things are always soft, haha.
would you like to know a secret? I've never been thrifting before. i know, i know...I should get out more often. cute find, though! ;)
ReplyDeleteIn Australia there's no 'thrifting' unfortunately, but it looks fun. That 'gem' is sensational on you. What a good buy : )
ReplyDeleteOk so this isn't exactly thrifting but I did find a convertible for $300. :) And I found J.Crew pants for 10 bucks.
ReplyDeleteI think that blazer is swoon worthy. I need it. I shall go buy it as soon as I have 500 dollars to spare ;)
ReplyDeleteI don't know, I haven't really gone thrifting yet, but my grandma goes thrifting and gets me some really awesome skirts and stuff. She brings me hauls every time I see her.

Oh man!! Blazers are epic!! Sure wish I could convince my mom to let me buy clothes from thrift stores! :/
ReplyDeleteWow, good deal on the blazer! It looks so cute on you.
ReplyDeleteOh gosh- adore your shoes!
ReplyDeleteThrifting is the best thing ever! Unfortunately I don't usually have enough time to do it very often.
ReplyDeleteI have this amazing pair of leather healed boots I found once. They're a size too small, but I don't care at all because they're so cute.
