content to be
Right now, I am content. It's nothing more than the morning sun streaming through the glass windowpanes, the gurgle and hum of the dishwasher running in the clean kitchen, a nutty piece of chocolate melting on my tongue, and the knowledge that I have a whole day to fill, stretched out before me like a sea of possibility. I think that's why I like mornings so -- the potential to create, work, experience, live. And on this silent, peaceful morning, that's what's I'm reveling in. I rush to the next moment so often, worrying, anticipating, wishing, when all along the quiet, overlooked moments are the ones really worth keeping. I just want to remember this feeling, this minute, this second. Because right now, I am just content to be.

LOOOOOVE these pictures, Carlotta! And I also think the design is fantastic! :) Fernweh, too, is incredible. The ideas you girls come up with blow me away. I get so excited about reading it when someone posts! Woo! Basically, everything you're involved with is awesome. The end.

I love the new design, Carlotta! The pink/coral color in the post title is one of my favorite colors right now. It's like the color of a ripe grapefruit.
ReplyDeleteso beautiful, dear! I'm totally in love with the new design, but just to be honest, I'm not that wild about the font you used for "pastor's girl's", but that's just my opinion...and me? I'm so thankful and content too, as I live the life God's given me, and love it. (sometimes it can be hard to love life!) Lately, I've been incredibly thankful for the friend's God has given me. Anyways, enough of my ramblings...I loved the post :)

ReplyDeleteFirst, Fernweh looks amazing. I feel like it is just ... meant for me. Your "manifesto" so clearly speaks to me. Living simpler is something I strive to do -- and I wish it were simple for me to just stop the anxiousness and worrying. Ah well, I'm really looking forward to reading what ya'll have put together.
Second, those pictures of the various pine/evergreens are just gorgeous! I absolutely love them!!
Third, I really feel ya on the topic of this post. Truly, God wants us to be content with the moment. If only it weren't so counter-cultural with what "society" tells us. I try not to get caught up in all that stuff, but sometimes, it's hard.

that grapefruit sequence is wonderful. i love grapefruit so so so much! our neighbor grows them for a fruit market and gave us all the ones he couldn't sell but they still taste AMAZING.
