I spent the afternoon journaling, sipping coffee, eating ice cream, and gardening. The weather has been so unseasonably warm this year -- but I'm not complaining. It's rather nice not having to worry about bundling up. And as for journaling, that's something I've started this week. I've always kept a diary, and I regularly fill up notebooks with my writing, but I intend to make this new journal visually appealing as well. I like sitting down in the afternoon to fill blank pages with quotes and song lyrics and blackout poems and short stories.
Do you journal?
ps i caved and got a formspring account...ask away, loves!
This was lovely. That first picture is quite inspiring. I love that tape you have, where'd you find it? Yes, in fact, I do journal. I have about three different types of journals. Kinda obsessed with journaling. Wonderful post!
I would absolutely love to journal and make it look beautiful, instead of random, scattered thoughts carelessly scribbled. Beautiful pictures as always!
Lovely! I think on Sunday afternoon, I'll also drink tea, journal and read. :) I like the idea of throwing song lyrics and quotes in there. After all, that's where I find most inspiration. :)
Your afternoon sounded simply wonderful! I am wishing I had your warmer weather where I live! Yes, I journal! I know you won't regret starting one. it's a great way to let out your feelings and have fun writing vividly and descriptively! <3
yes. journaling is a large part of my life now. i started a project 52 journal, but now i long to write in it each day. i often fill it with doodles or wandering thoughts or things of the sort. i have some old newspapers that i am going to use to make blackout poems. so excited. beautiful post, dearie, lovely photos as always. :)) -jocee <3
love these photos, the shadows and sun flare... beautiful. i started regularly journaling this year, in the past it's been every month or two. mostly i just write. oh, and i've been very much wanting to try one of those blackout poems, lovely idea for a saturday afternoon. thanks.
I'm journalling quite regularly at the moment but it's become a bit depressing of late and I'm hoping to find a few quite hours and a corner of the sofa this afternoon to just write and sketch and dream.
I'm amazed yet again, carlotta. Somehow you always manage to merge beauty and simplicity in all your photographs. // Yay for formspring! I'm glad you caved :) I had actually been thinking about asking you to. Have a lovely weekend! xoxo Simi
aah, this reminds me of when i used to do art journaling. i think you've convinced me to start one again. and aren't blackout poems the best? i did my first one yesterday, and i think i'm in love. but i'm more in love with that fifth photo. seriously.

ps. seeing your handwriting has me craving a letter from my favourite twin. ;)
your journal is so beautiful! i agree with miss simi, you always manage to bled beauty and simplicity into all your artwork. i also journal... and you've inspired me. :)
I love journal writing, and just saw an art journal online, which has had me thinking of creating one. You have now further my motivation to start one!
I like your journal. My journalling is basically little pretty bits that I can't bear to use but if I use them in a lovely journal at least they are not wasted. I like your style.
Hey girl! Just found your blog. I'm a Pastor's girl too. Love the vintage look! mmmm. . . that ice cream looks so good right now. Following you via gfc!
I love your photographs, especially the shots with the shadows in them. I take photography at school and our latest assignment is to capture shadows and silhouettes. I've done shadows, but I have no idea what to do for silhouettes...
I'm super happy to find out that there is someone else who is not an adult who listens to the Avett Brothers :) Probably one of the best boy bands ever :)
Does anyone know where I could find camera bags online for under $30? I'm looking for the cute kind, that don't look like camera bags. But they're all really expensive, usually around $200. Eliza
I looked a couple weeks ago but couldn't find a bag for a cute price, but I found a DIY that I'm going to try and do :) http://www.livelaugheat.com/2011/02/02/diy-camera-purse-bag/
Found you through Kristen's blog just now. Just wanted to say the first picture of your scrapbook-esque journal just seriously inspired me to re-start journaling in a creative way. Thank you! -Stephanie

ReplyDeleteYour ice cream looks delicious. It makes me extremely happy that my dad and sister are on their way to the store to buy that very thing right now.
ReplyDeleteAlso, journaling = love. Mine is mainly for thoughts, not aesthetics, but it's a great outlet nonetheless. :)
