I got this crazy notion in my head to build a wooden backdrop for my photography out of an old pallet. Over the course of a few days, Jeremiah and I (but mainly J) pieced together exactly what I had in mind -- all without instructions or splinters. A brother that builds things for you...what's not to love?

On a side note, I don't have much of a green thumb, but my little succulent is thriving marvelously. I feel like a proud mama.

Continuing the things to be happy about list, here's installment two.

that sweet relieving feeling of being all done with exams // 77 degree weather and tomatoes from the garden in january (yes really) // the excitement of packing for a trip // that state of mourning you enter when you finish a good book // sweater tights // planning for summer // the knowledge that God has a plan // being productive // salted caramel hot chocolate at starbucks // brothers that help you with your crazy ideas

What are some things you're happy about?

much love.

  5. Wood is one of my favorite photography backdrops...and a brother who builds them? That's even better. I confess, I have no constructional ability whatsoever. Congratulations on finishing exams! Gives you such a relieved, happy feeling, no?

    :)

  18. First off, I love your outfit dear. And I must say I am slightly jealous of such warm weather. Just slightly. Mourning when finishing a good book, just had that today. So bittersweet. Read A Crown in the Stars by Kacy Barnett-Gramckow. Actually read her whole trilogy. It's about the Flood and the Tower of Babel from the points of view of three different women, one of whom is Shem's wife. Also, try The Fiddler's Gun and Fiddler's Green by A.S.Peterson. Orphan girl during the revolution who is about to get married but then has to flee to sea because she murdered British soldiers. I cried at the ends of both of those, which I rarely do when reading books. So very very sad and yet good. And as to knowing that God has a plan, what a precious promise! I am so completely thankful that He is in control of our lives.
    Much love.
