friday is my favorite.

3.09.2012

I was oh so tempted to spell favorite with a u, in a vain attempt to sound more sophisticated. And since I have a Canadian friend and English friend, it totally would have been justified, right? I refrained, but that doesn't stop me from pretending that I'm more refined than I really am. But moving on.

Have I ever mentioned how much I love Fridays? I like the way they are a blank slate, a whole day to fill as you wish. I like the feeling of having a whole weekend stretched before you. I like the sweet cadence of mid-morning breakfasts of waffles and coffee, late night movies, piercingly blue skies broken by blossoms, and laughs with friends. I like how plans are spontaneous--exploring, shopping, or a catnap, perhaps?
Friday is just my favorite.

  1. Oh yes. I love Fridays (that is, when I am not bogged down with school). My favorite day is either Friday or Saturday. Any day that consists of either relaxing, shopping, maybe throw baking into the mix, is good with me.

And this comment would not be complete without me saying - "Beautiful photos!"

Have a wonderful day, Carlotta. :)

Beautiful photos, as always. I can't wait until Spring is officially here in WI.

  7. I always am tempted to spell color with a u, too, to sound more sophisticated!

Beautiful post. Fridays are the best day of the week, by far.

I love the contrast between the pink blossoms and blue skies- makes the spring lover inside of me happy :]

  8. Fridays are fabulous. (I love your pictures! You're so talented!) By the way, being Canadian myself I often spell "favourite" - well, like I just typed it. :)

Today was a mixture of slow-cooker oatmeal for breakfast, taking pictures, and painting with watercolors. And Fridays are even better when they kick off March Break, like today. :)

  9. Friday is also my very favorite day of the week. There is just a feeling of knowing the weekend is here and there may or may not be any plans for the weekend. Going somewhere unplanned or waiting till the weekend comes to do something that has been planned for days. It's just a wonderful feeling. :)
    Beautiful photos!

  10. I like how spelling favourite with a "u" makes you feel more sophisticated when I just feel like it's there for no reason and an extra letter! ;) The second picture of MeMe is absolutely gorgeous! She's such a beautiful little girl! and I love love love the pictures of the blossoms! :) My favourite day is probably Saturday because I have no school, I can have a nap, stay up as late as I'd like, and really just do whatever I'd like! :D

  12. It's true! Fridays are so spontaneous, a perfect reason to love them. I love thinking, "Oh, I CAN do ____ because I have the whole rest of the weekend to finish homework" instead of "Snap, I can't cause of all my school." :)

  25. My problem with spelling is that I read quite a lot of articles and books written by European authors, so I get used to seeing things spelled the European way...which leads to me actually writing "colour," and then getting confused when spell check tells me it's wrong... ;) Love your blog, by the way.

    Blessings!

  28. I know other people have said this, but I love that picture with the pink blossoms and vivid blue sky.
And I know it's cliche, but one of my favorite things about Spring is taking pictures of the budding flowers!

  29. Hi Carlotta! I just want to say that your blog is absolutely beautiful. I think you are an amazing photographer, and so creative too! I absolutely love your pictures!

This post made me wish that spring would come faster, so bad. We still have about 1 meter high snowpiles here where I live. I might be just a little bit jealous about those blooming trees and flowers! So pretty! But yeah, maybe in about two months we'll have a proper spring too. :)

Anyway, I'm so glad I found your blog, and I'm definitely going keep following it! :)
