But now the sun has returned and after a long, gloomy week, the weekend has arrived. I couldn't be happier. Today was river exploring, driving practice, being silly while thrifting, and a spontaneous ice cream run (I may have broken my lenten fast...totally worth it).
A few things to add to my happy list...
driving in the golden light, windows rolled way down and radio turned way up : : spending time with my favorite eight year old : : clutching a tiny hand and watching our shadows twist before us : : a freshly cleaned room : : pasta with white wine cream sauce and mushrooms : : azaleas in full bloom : : the return of late sunsets filtering through new leaves
What are some things that you're happy about?

I love your outfit, Carlotta! I need that sweater... And your pictures are really lovely.
ReplyDeleteWow. Just wow. Your photos are incredibly gorgeous. And your outfits? - You're the best teen-fashion blogger I know. Plus, your happy list makes me happy, too.

you are so sweet! thanks so much.
Deleteps that rain picture: i die.
ReplyDeleteI want your mama's rain boots, you make them look sophisticated! Right now, I'm exceedingly thankful for dear friends all over the world (and thus Skype, Facebook and email. Thank goodness for those), Easter dress shopping, the Newsboys, daylight savings tomorrow and youth group.
ReplyDeleteoh yes, thankful for technology as well...I'm not sure I could survive without being able to stay in close contact with my friends!
DeleteI'm with you about the sun! No sun = no happy inspirational moments. Great pics! :)
ReplyDeleteThe first photo makes me melt. How are you so talented? :)
ReplyDeleteFinding happiness in the little things -- that's one of the best ideas. And, seriously, it can help turn a not-so-awesome week around. And so can fun umbrellas. Yours is absolutely fantastic, with the historical scenes! Where did you get it?
ReplyDeletethe umbrella was actually a gift from a few years ago, so I'm afraid I can't help you, sorry!
Deletethe hunger games!!!!!!!!!! aahhhhhmazingg
ReplyDeleteIt's so sunny here, and warm too, but this is England and I doubt it will last long! It's hard but sometimes you just have to find new ways of looking at things. For instance, the pearly grey light of overcast days isn't the most stunning but it can give a different challenge to photography, and is the perfect excuse to drink tea and read books all afternoon!
ReplyDeleteThis line is so poetic: "...watching our shadows twist before us." Nice post, Carlotta!
ReplyDeleteWhat makes me happy? Well, I love the little things in life like waking up to a sunny day, hearing my favourite song on the radio, finishing a good book, learning something on guitar, cuddling with my puppy, finding something I'm good at and finishing all of my homework. I love all of your posts so much, I love how much effort you put into them they are just wonderful! :)
ReplyDeleteOh. my. gosh. I want to live where live! Gorgeous post :)

the rain puddle makes me yearn for a storm. unlike you, my inspiration comes with the clouds and rain ;) you're so pretty, carlotta, and those are all wonderful things to be grateful for!

ReplyDeleteLove the umbrella and the outfit!
ReplyDeleteyou are such an inspiring, gorgeous person, carlotta. i love your photography, your perspective on life, the way you write, and the way you dream big.
ReplyDeletemy things to be happy about...
