Have I gushed enough about the amazing-ness that is Kinfolk Magazine yet? No? Well you're about to hear more about it. Simply put, it's an exploration deep into the roots of what brings people together and the bonds that are created over the simple act of sharing a meal together. It is the single most beautiful magazine I've ever had the privilege to hold and own. When I am reading it, I want to try new things and travel. It fills me with inspiration and it is the kind of publication that draws you in and makes you want to study every little detail. I reread each volume several times, but it's not repetitious. No, on the contrary, it's like I'm reading it for the first time again. It is, in a word, stunning--and I mean that with every fiber of my being.

Today, Louis (who has just started blogging again as of today!) and I are giving away a brand spankin' new copy of volume three, which was just recently released. Guys...I cannot emphasize enough how wonderful a magazine this is. Even if you don't win the giveaway (which I hope you do!), I strongly encourage you to get a copy for yourself. It's so worth it.

ReplyDeletea tradition in our family? on Christmas day, we always make a batch of cupcakes. they're usually box mix cupcakes because we've done loads and loads of baking, and we decorate them with cream cheese icing {my favorite} and sing happy birthday to Jesus and blow out candles, and we eat the cupcakes on His behalf.

ReplyDeleteA tradition that my family has is one present on Christmas Eve, always an ornament from my grandparents. I have so many now, and they each hold so many memories! The rest of the gifts are opened Christmas morning, and we never just dive in, we open them one at a time so that we can all see... I like it that way. =)
ReplyDeleteOn Thanksgiving, my family gathers together for a most memorable meal, and everyone contributes a dish, or dishes. I just love the feeling that I get when we are all together, and my favorite part is my Grandmother's chocolate pie :) After food, sometimes we head outside for a couple rounds of kickball, and it can get very competitive!

ReplyDeleteMy families's tradition? Well, every Christmas morning, Mum will grab our six tall, colorful Christmas mugs and we will drink hot coco together! ReplyDeleteWhile this isn't anywhere near girly, I guess (having four brothers and natural lightsaber-loving inclinations will do that), my family loves to talk hockey during dinner. Not really just who's out or who's winning or whatnot--we love the players and we love the game and we want to see artistry in that. Something more girly to redeem myself? My grandmother and I love going out for tea. It's lovely. Completely British posh.

love Kinfolk so much! I have the first volume and it's pretty much my favorite. One family tradition would have to be Woodland...this will be my seventeenth year and I am so excited as the days get closer and closer. My mom has been going to the same resort since she was eight, and before that, another resort on the same lake. Woodland is where my family all gets together -- my grandma and grandpa, aunts, uncles, cousins, sisters, brothers, mom and dad -- and we spend a week on this small, old resort that we love on the lake. Best week ever. xx
