a few snaps of lilly from last month...some of my favorite summer pictures I've ever taken.
Over the hum of the air conditioner and the silent whir of the fan, the thermometer whispers a very summery 106 degrees. According to the calendar, though, summer is over. This weekend, I kissed the last few days of the season goodbye eating one too many snowcones (my tongue was properly red) and sitting in the pool talking about college one moment and acting like a little kid the next. Today the pools closed and school started and I already have senioritis despite the fact I haven't even made it to the second day of my junior year. The tans will fade and dipping into the water for a cool swim will be a distant memory, but I have folders full of images and a journal full of ink that will always allow me to relive this season. The summer of 2012 will be missed greatly but the memories we made will not be forgotten. Fall, I'm as ready as I'll ever be. Please be good to me.
That water looks so inviting! And I always love the imagery you create with words in your posts!
Also, I remember you being asked on formspring about college and you had mentioned you weren't sure about going. Did you decide you'd like to go? If so, what for?
My answer then is the same answer now...I'm still really undecided about the whole college thing. If I were to go, though, I'd most likely go to a technical school at OSU (oklahoma state university) that specializes in graphic design :)
The feel and color and composition of these summery photos are truly beautiful, the way you created them makes them art and not just oddly bright pool photos. lovely. <3
Alright, so I was freaking out when I saw these pictures because both of my littlest sisters have that little tutu bathing suit and isn't it the cutest little thing every? That fluffy little skirt bouncing as they walk (or crawl as the case may be) around is melt your heart adorable :)
well, that was crazy relevant. college talk one moment and playing like a little kid the next. senioritis. everything. and that lilly. i cannot get enough.
oh my gosh, that lily??!!! she is too adorable...plus with the cutest swimmers on, oh. my. goodness. i love summer, can't wait until it arrives where i live in a few months! :)
Beautiful photos, and your writings are so wonderful. They stir inside of me a desire to see the beauty in life and capture as much as it as I can with my camera. Happy school year! (ha.ha. not;)
my two favorite colors! Beautiful photos and shots of your summer! I'm going to miss these long summer days, but Fall is definitely one of my favorite months. I can't wait for layering, falling leaves and cooler weather!
*Sigh* I don't want it to be over just yet. I love these pictures and they make me regret the amount of times I didn't go swimming this year...yeah...I don't know what's wrong with me. One run in the rain though and it made up for it all. There's somthing about summer...and water...I just can't get enough of it. So not ready for fall, but I'm with you...asking it to be good to me and hoping for the best. Parts of me want it with the cool breezes, but every time I think of summer I think of how much I love it how I've fallen in love with it all over again and how I just hate to say goodbye. Thanks for sharing! ~Alina
these pics are fantastic. love the brightness of the water. makes summer feel alive again.
I hate this awkward South phase between summer/fall. technincally, summer is over, but according to the weather, I should still be lazing around, eating icecream, and going for a swim. but instead I'm trapped inside doing my endless schoolwork, and dreaming about sweaters and hot chocolate.
