frequently asked questions

what kind of camera do you use?
I use a Nikon D3000 and generally shoot with a 35mm 1.8 lens, though I own a 18-55mm as well.

can you guest post on my blog?
I appreciate your asking, but unfortunately there are only so many hours in a day and I have limit myself to what I can do. However, feel free to contact me and I'll see if I can fit you into the schedule.

can you write a post promoting my blog/giveaway/business?
Sorry, but no; I try to keep my posts free of advertisement as well as things I'm not directly affiliated with. However, if you'd like to get the word about your blog, giveaway, business, etc, you're welcome to sponsor my blog.

which editing program do you use?
I edit all my photographs with Lightroom 3.

do you hope to pursue photography as your occupation someday?
Photography is a great love of mine and helps me express creativity. I'm honestly not sure what I'll pursue as an occupation yet, but I do know that I want to somehow incorporate photography in my future career.

could you share how you edit your photographs?
I appreciate your interest, but I'd prefer not to.

how are you schooled and what classes do you take?
I'm schooled through a combination of homeschooling and online classes. This year, I'm taking two classes through Veritas Press and the rest I do at home.

any advice for aspiring photographers?
Have a lot of perseverance and keep on going even when it's tough. Photograph overlooked objects, be artistic with your angles, subjects, and lighting. Don't be limited by your camera. Maybe you only have a point and shoot, but it's still a camera. Make the best of it.

do you speak german?
Yep, I do.

where's your favorite place to shop?
I love Target for their affordability and style, as well as Forever 21. Thrifting is also a favorite...there are so many unique pieces and you can often find high end brand name clothing for barely anything.

what is your favorite Bible verse?
Romans 8:38-39. "For I am convinced that neither life nor death, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord."

who designed your blog?
I designed my blog myself.

you sometimes mention your family in germany -- could you elaborate on that?
Both my parents were born in Germany; my mother is a native German and my father had an American (technically Chilean) mother and German father. They spent most of their lives in Germany and it wasn't until my mother got transferred to Texas due to her job when she was pregnant with me that they moved to the States. The majority of my family are still in Germany, however, including my two older sisters from my father's first marriage and my grandparents, which explains the (almost) annual trips over there.
